INTERNSHIPS IN PARADISE

Our internship program is a challenging, yet rewarding experience that will enrich your mind, body, and soul. We provide opportunities to learn and work with nature, grow your own food, make new friends and ultimately grow as an individual during your stay with us. It is a experience where you will learn skills that you can prosper from for life.

LFF is a developing farm, so the tasks include but are not limited to:

- invasive species removal

- native plant restoration 

- dryland forest management 

- garden tending

- planting
- harvesting
- animal care
- improvement projects


We accept interns on the basis of availability, experience, eagerness to contribute, and enthusiasm for our policies and vision.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Overview:

  • Intern applicants are required to complete an online application.
  • Farm Coordinator will follow up to schedule a live video interview with you.
  • Acceptance email and confirm your spot with a security deposit.
  • Arrive and GROW!

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS


Interns are required to participate 30 hours per week in the following activites, not including weekly field trips:

  • 25 hours: hands on land restoration projects
  • 5 hours:  module and lecture based learning 
  • 5 hours:  farm community service


PRE ARRIVAL REQUIREMENTS


Security Deposit of $100 will be collected prior to the start of the internship and refunded upon satisfactory completion of the intern period (minus property damage, if any).


Health Insurance Coverage is required by all interns.throughout the entire stay and are responsible for their own healthcare treatment and costs. 


TUITION COST: $1500

Forests in drylands play a significant role in conserving biodiversity. Lahaina Family Farms has developed an on - going dryland restoration project.
