Life at The Farm Farm Activities Farmers Market Project Wiliwili Restoration Project

Every day is different. Whether we are planting crops, fixing irrigation lines, moving rocks, painting, harvesting, teaching, and learning, every day is a surprise. Every day is an adventure. We are so grateful to be able to grow our own food and have a place to stay, especially when it is in paradise.

We offer Farm tours of our fully sustainable farm. We host educational seminars for people wishing to learn more about our sustainable practices, our vermaculture, our solar energy production or even our sacred Hawaiian Wiliwili trees along with other native Hawaiian plants and species. We also have an internship program whereby interested people can come and work and learn.

Beginning the 4th quarter of 2011, we are opening up to the community space at our Farmers Market located just off of the Hookipa Hwy Malika (mountain) side of Puamana park at the south end of Lahaina. Locals are welcome to set up a 10 X 10 tent and some tables and sell their crops. We plan to be open every Friday from 7 until Noon. The market is open to anyone desiring only the freshest locally grown fruits and vegetables.

In December 2005 the Hawaiian wiliwili population was under immediate threat due to an infestation by a gall wasp, most of the trees throughout the Hawaiian islands were decimated, nearly to the point of extinction. Lahaina Family Farms boasts the largest living stand of wiliwili trees in Hawaii, due to their dry land reforestation efforts and their many hours of work "bringing Willi Back".
